Senior Advisor / Vice President for Assessment & Advocacy

Tony Cipollone leads the Foundation’s efforts to gather and promote the use of data as a critical tool for change. He oversees the Foundation’s communications, KIDS COUNT national and state work, evaluation-related investments, and Baltimore-focused investments. During the past three decades, Tony has spent considerable time researching, evaluating, and writing about at-risk youth, school improvement, collaborative service delivery systems, and other youth and family issues. Immediately prior to joining the Foundation, he worked with states, cities, schools, agencies, and foundations to develop more effective approaches for working with disadvantaged kids, particularly those at high risk for dropping out of school. He holds a bachelor's degree in urban education and a master's degree in special education, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and earned his doctorate in administration, planning, and social policy from Harvard University.
