The Resiliency Workshop

About the Authors

Jill Kinney is primary author of this tool. She is executive director of Home, Safe, a private Seattle, WA, nonprofit corporation begun in 1992 to develop and implement innovative approaches to helping families throughout the United States. For the last five years, Kinney's work has focused on development of professional and natural helper partnerships, worker resiliency techniques and options for helping people with drug problems if they refuse drug treatment or the 12-step model.

Also contributing to the development of this tool were John Mattingly and Janice Nittoli, Senior Associates for the Annie E. Casey Foundation; and Kathy Strand, Program Associate for Home, Safe.

Sandea Douglas, Field Liaison for the New Mexico Children, Youth and Family Division in Sante Fe, and JoEllen Vansword, former Staff Training Specialist for Child Welfare in Birmingham, AL, first piloted the workshop and helped with further development and revisions.
