The Annie E. Casey Foundation Teams with Maryland Public Television on Financial Literacy Documentary
Pursuit of the Dream: Building Credit for Life Guides Families Toward Stronger Economic Future
BALTIMORE, MD – Mar. 31, 2010 - The Annie E. Casey Foundation-produced documentary, Pursuit of the Dream: Building Credit for Life, presents an eye-opening look about the importance of credit scores and offers financial literacy help to families. The hour-long program will air Thursday, Apr. 1 at 8:00 p.m. on Maryland Public Television (MPT). The focus of the documentary will be the real situations of ordinary families grappling with the consequences of having no or low credit scores and provides guidance on how to avoid bad economic decisions and build or repair creditworthiness.
“Building good credit scores is an important step for Americans to achieve financial stability, build savings, and remain competitive in the job and housing markets,” said Irene Skricki, senior associate with the Casey Foundation. “With educational tools like Pursuit of the Dream, Casey hopes to help families attain brighter futures for their children.”
Veteran business television anchor and correspondent Karen Gibbs hosts the program as part of MPT’s National Financial Literacy Month. Viewers are invited to call a toll-free hotline during the program to pose their questions to counselors and receive referrals to financial education resources.
Pursuit of the Dream: Building Credit for Life is funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and award-winning N.A.K Production Associates, a media productions company that produces a broad range of documentary and entertainment television programming.
